Google Hangouts video calls in Chrome won't require plugin anymore

All Chrome web browser users will be able to access video chats in Google Hangouts without the need to download a plugin, although it will take a little while for this feature to be fully implemented.

The announcement was made today by Google software engineer Victoria Kirst, who stated:
Starting today, we're rolling out an update that makes it easier than ever to start Hangouts video calls with your family and friends! You'll now be able to launch Hangouts in Chrome without having to download and install a plugin. Just click to start the Hangout, allow Hangouts to use your camera and microphone, and you'll be good to go!
Before you get too excited, Kirst does add that this feature is currently available just for Chrome Dev and Canary users but that it will be rolled out to all Chrome browser owners "over the next few weeks."

Phone SD card died a few days ago so I went to Officeworks this afternoon to get a new one. At the checkout there were these cute folders so I bought them too.

Do you want to be a rock?

No, I don't mean a rock star. I mean a literal unmoving rock.

I came across an article last night notifying me that later in 2014 everyone can be a rock! How exciting!
"Rock Simulator 2014 is real, on Steam Greenlight"
Soon you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in an innovative and highly-detailed simulation: Rock Simulator 2014.

"This simulator is a rock enthusiasts dream. You can watch beautiful rocks in any location in the world," developer Strange Panther Games states on the Steam Greenlight page. "From grass plains to salt flats, there are dozens of hand designed BEAUTIFUL environments."

Some of those environments are presumably still in the concept stage, as the most recent development update includes a request for aid from a 3D modeler. Even so, things appear to be coming along well: The game is number 69 on the Greenlight rankings. Three Rock Simulator 2014 screens are also available, and while the backgrounds are clearly still in beta, the rocks themselves are some fine looking slabs of stone. Rock Simulator 2014 will launch as a PC exclusive single-player game.

Anime Review - One Week Friends

Synopsis: Kaori Fujimiya is always alone because all of her happy memories, including time spent with her friends, disappear every Monday. Deciding that he wants to be friends with her anyway, Yuuki Hase tries to get close to Kaori each week, wishing that she would one day call him "a friend."
Source : MAL

First of all, I found this anime ridiculously cute, so I may be extremely biased. Please bare with me as I am trying to being objective here.

Cute Story : 7
This story does not use complex ideas, concept nor plot twists. This is the rawest story possible: the following of the friendship between friends. The main message of the show is to appreciate the wonderful bond of friendship, and it succeeds, leaving the viewer smiley and giggly with joy. The relaxed and slowed pace is perfect and seems to highlight the difficult challenge of building a friendship. As well, the reason for the memory loss is explained in a practical manner and ties in well with the story. It is not just an extra thrown in for drama, but is further touched upon in the later episodes.

Cute Art : 7
There is nothing to boast about. The art is simplistic with its soft and mellow colours. It compliments the lightheartedness and cuteness of the story. Also, the first anime that I have seen in a while with no fanservice! Yeah! *SPOILER* They even go to a beach yet the girls wear their regular outfits!

Those soft light colours . . . so pretty.
Sweet Soundtrack : 8
Finally, an adjective that is not cute. The cheerful opening and strong ending song, sung by the seiyuu for Fujimiya, ties together the adorableness of this series. The seiyuus were well selected, except for Shogo. I questioned his voice but overtime, it grew on me.

Cute Characters : 9
I need another synonym here guys. The characters are the strongest aspect of the show. The interactions, the dialogue and the emotions were genuine, although the dialogue was slightly repetitive. The characters were immediately likable, even if they were stereotypical cookie-cut characters. My only main negative would be the lack of a Kujo's character. I imagined that he would have a more catastrophic role, but he fell flat.

So cute yet so funny :D
Fell in Love : 10
I really really really loved this anime. The adorableness, the fuzzy atmosphere and the cute characters drew me in. This anime would pull on my heartstrings; I would either smile like crazy or tear up silently in a corner. If I had not binge-watched this series, each episode would have definitely made my week a lot more happier.

Overall : Very Good : 8
One Week Friends will likely not be placed on top for this season yet there is something about this show that makes it wonderful to watch. The pure innocence, cherished friendship, and charming nature of this anime will draw in all ages and leave waves of happiness within them. I recommend this anime 100%!
Other suggestions include Kimi to Boku, Golden Time and Usagi Drop.

I ship these two so much~!
Until next time,

JunJun is full of puns

I'm watching the Makai Ouji event from 2013 and in this corner/section, the various seiyuus have to come up with lines for the characters to say.
JunJun (Fukuyama Jun) decides to pull this pun out for William.
The literal translation of the pun is "My mother is my mother", the Jap version is hilarious because it says "My mother is selfish". It's a play on words of "Wa ga" (meaning mine) and "Ma ma" (meaning mum) while "Wagamama" term means selfish.

I was watching one of his concerts the other night.

Chrome Extensions Everyone Must Have

So you just installed Google Chrome on your machine. You've got everything you want set-up; all those important tabs pinned, and your bookmarks sorted out. However, you feel that your Chrome should do more for you and to be more special to you. Well, you should take a look at installing extensions to your Chrome browser!

Searching for Chrome extensions is easy with everything in the Google Chrome Web Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore

From there, you can search for any webapps you want from handy tools to web-based flash games. Not only that, you also have the option to install some nice themes to go with your Chrome browser. More importantly though, it is the 'Extensions' that will enhance your browsing experience within Google Chrome.

Here is my list of extensions that everyone must install to their Chrome browser. (Note that the list does not include 'Apps'. That is a whole different category.)

First up is AdBlock. AdBlock has been around for a while now since early Firefox days. Ever since Chrome added the functionality for extensions, the developers of AdBlock have continued to support the extension on all major browsers. This extension is a must have to disable any advertisements from showing up on your webpage. It also prevents you from accidentally clicking on nasty links.

Better Image Viewer
Do you ever feel that the default image in Chrome is quite limited? It doesn't do much expect show an image on a new tab with no controls at all. Of course, you do have the context menu that will enable you to save the image and download it, but honestly speaking, any browser can do that. With Better Image Viewer, you can additional control over your images. You can easily rotate the image, zoom in and out as well as view it's properties. There's so much you can do with Better Image Viewer.

Hangouts is a must-have for all Chrome and Android users. It allows you to easily communicate with your friends and family from anywhere at anytime. The Hangouts extension also enables a quick window on your desktop to let you easily access your contacts. You can also do instant messaging as well as video call to anyone else that uses Hangouts. If you haven't already given Hangouts a go, you are really missing out!

Rovio's latest 'Angry Birds' game is an RPG

Angry Birds Epic

Rovio's latest instalment in the Angry Birds franchise is an RPG, which is quite different from the physics-based gameplay that has made the series an international hit. Called Angry Birds Epic, the game was soft-launched in Canada, Australia and New Zealand earlier this year, but is available globally now.

Angry Birds Epic follows a free-to-play model that is becoming increasingly popular with studios. The game follows a turn-based RPG format which sees players battling pigs with a team of birds. Along the way, players can acquire and upgrade weapons, potions and armor, level up and unlock new characters. Users also have access to a crafting engine that allows them to create new parts for use in battle scenarios.

Check out the trailer for the game below:

Chrome Theme: Chibi Sakura Miku

I came across this cute image of Sakura Miku on the internet whilst searching for a nice image of Sakura Miku to complement the Snow Miku theme I made a while back. This theme is full-on pink and definitely not for the faint-hearted. If you are against pink, stay clear away as this theme will probably bleed your eyes! But anyway, it's a theme targeted at our female audience, so enjoy!

Lookout! Reviews Up Ahead!

Shows are coming to an end and that means reviews!
I have been busy with school and exams, so I have not had time to watch but I hope to binge-watch five or six series and post reviews shortly after.
That being said, look forward to reading reviews from these shows!

No Game No Life
Black Bullet
Haikyuu!! (My first sports anime)
Mekaku City Actors
One Week Friends

I might be adding in "The Comic Artist and His Assistant", "The Irregular at Magic High School" and "Blade and Soul", depending on how much time I have.

SwiftKey 5 goes free, adds number row, emoji and paid themes

SwiftKey 5 is free

One of Android's top paid apps is now free. SwiftKey, long one of our favorite third-party keyboards, has dropped its $3.99 price for its fifth iteration — available today — and is throwing in a bunch of new features as well.

And for those who bought the full version of SwiftKey in the past, well, there's a little extra something in there for you as well.

So here's the deal: First and foremost, nobody's paying for SwiftKey going forward. You get that great prediction engine and layout for absolutely nothing. And with it you'll still be able to take advantage of SwiftKey Cloud, which syncs your predictions across any and all devices you hook into it. Plus, you can still have SwiftKey learn from your Google, Facebook or Twitter entries.

The Pixar Theory

I can't believe I didn't come across the video earlier! The video talks about one possible theory on how all the Pixar animated films are linked in some way or another in one single universe and timeline. Definitely watch this because it is worth your precious 12 minutes of your life.
