PCSX2 has hit 1.0!

Ever felt like playing an old game that is only available on the PlayStation 2 but you don't have one? Well your problems have now been solved! If you haven't already heard of PCSX2 then you might want to start listening now.

PCSX2 is an open-source PlayStation 2 emulator then runs on multiple platforms. It can play most PS2 games you throw at it so its compatibility is pretty high. After many long years of development, debugging and testing effort, the PCSX2 team have reached a point where the emulator runs a great majority of the games, and there are no important issues that could possibly be fixed without requiring major modifications to the emulator.

As a result, the team focused on polishing the stability, compatibility and existing features and finally released the first major version of PCSX2.

Here are some noteworthy changes on the Windows platform version:
  • Video timing adjustments
  • General speedups
  • CDVD fixes
  • Added Finnish, Malaysian, Korean, French, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese and Polish translations
  • Better multithreading
  • User configurable hacks in the GUI
You can download PCSX2 from the official website.
